PHILADELPHIA - July 14, 2011 (WPVI) Police released horrific new details Friday on how they believe three-year-old Jaquinn Brewton died, and they say it was no accident.

Police now say the child was murdered through long-term physical abuse allegedly at the hands of his godmother, 22-year-old Nadera Batson and her 23-year-old boyfriend, Marcus King. They believe King, a 6' 8", 225-pound man, kicked and punched the little boy over a period of time. Police believe the couple used a blowtorch to burn the little boy on various parts of his body.

"The little boy took all the pain that he could," said Philadelphia Police Captain James Clark, "until he couldn't take it any more and he succumbed to his injuries.

As a result of the investigation by the homicide unit, we have arrested and charged Nadera Batson and Marcus King."

A Pataskala teenager apologized yesterday before being sentenced to 12 months in a residential treatment facility on sexual-assault charges. Cody Johnson, 16, in Pataskala, was convicted in January of charges related to the sexual assault of seven female classmates. He read a statement during a sentencing hearing yesterday, saying he was sorry for the pain he had caused the girls, some of whom were in the courtroom.

(AP) – The Supreme Court says federal officials can indefinitely hold inmates considered "sexually dangerous" after their prison terms are complete. The high court today reversed a lower court decision in regards to these inmates. 

Harsher sentences are now being imposed. It could be said that this was due to four men who served prison terms ranging from three to eight years for possession of child pornography or sexual abuse of a minor. Their confinement was supposed to end more than two years ago, but prison officials said there would be a risk of sexually violent conduct or child molestation if they were released.

According to the Justice Department an estimate of 1 million children in the U.S. are abused yearly; in correlation with pornography. The New York Times article states that a judge "does not believe that those who view images of child sexual abuse are a threat to our children." This is one of the many abuses my book speaks of that continues to go unspoken.

FARMINGTON — Raphaelbert Randall, 32, pleaded guilty to molesting a 4-yr old family member and John Wilcox, 59, pled guilty to also molesting a relative. Both men pleaded to multiple charges. Each man will face a minimum of 18 years in prison.
